Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
AIEO Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 8, 2026
This page is the privacy policy for the AIEO Chrome extension. It explains what AIEO collects, what it does not collect, how data is used, and how users can control their data.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the AIEO Chrome extension and the AIEO web service at aieo.ai. AIEO helps signed-in users ask questions about the visible screen, find AI workflow paths, and return to saved answers or workflows.
AIEO is extension-first and explicit. Screen Ask sends a visible-tab screenshot only after you choose to submit a question. The screenshot image is processed for that answer and is not stored as an image by the Screen Ask route.
Information the extension may collect
Account and connection data, including your signed-in AIEO account identifier, extension connection state, plan access state, and basic device/browser metadata needed to operate the extension.
Screen Ask data that you intentionally submit, including the visible-tab screenshot for transient processing, your question, page URL, page title, supported AI vendor, timestamp, generated answer, and any answer record you choose to save.
AIEO Paths data that you choose to provide, including role, goal, budget, skill level, tools you already use, selected path, generated workflow prompt, saved workflows, and feedback.
Saved-answer, Fact Vault, and workflow data tied to saved Screen Ask requests, snippets, approved business facts, saved workflows, or workflow actions.
Local extension settings stored in Chrome storage, including UI preferences, excluded domains, local Paths profile cache, connection status, and daily Screen Ask usage counts.
Information AIEO does not collect
AIEO does not record your browsing history.
AIEO does not silently capture screenshots or run hidden screen recording.
AIEO does not automatically save full AI conversations in the background.
AIEO does not ask users to provide personal OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, or other AI provider API keys.
AIEO does not collect passwords, credit-card numbers, or payment card data through the extension. Paid checkout is handled by Stripe.
How AIEO uses information
To provide requested extension features, including Screen Ask answers, saved-answer search, AIEO Paths recommendations, generated workflow prompts, saved workflow upgrades, and Fact Vault review.
To enforce plan access, usage limits, extension connection state, excluded-domain preferences, and account controls.
To maintain security, troubleshoot product issues, prevent abuse, and respond to support or privacy requests.
AIEO does not use your Screen Ask questions, screenshots, or answers to train AI models.
Sharing and service providers
AIEO does not sell user data.
AIEO may share limited data with service providers necessary to operate the product. Current providers include Vercel for hosting, Supabase/Postgres for database storage, Clerk for authentication, Stripe for billing, Resend for email, Inngest for background workflows, Microsoft Azure OpenAI for AI processing, and Perplexity for live AIEO Paths research.
AIEO Paths routes live research through the AIEO backend. Extension API keys are not exposed to the browser extension.
AIEO may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the security and integrity of the service.
Retention and user controls
Screen Ask screenshots are processed transiently for the requested answer and are not retained as image files by the Screen Ask route. Saved Screen Ask answers, saved-answer search records, Paths, and workflow records are retained only as needed to provide account features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and support user-requested history.
Users can request export or deletion of account data from the AIEO account controls. Users can also remove the extension from Chrome at any time.
Local extension preferences can be cleared by removing the extension or clearing extension storage from Chrome.
Security
AIEO uses HTTPS for network requests, account authentication, access controls, and operational safeguards to protect user data.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, but AIEO limits extension data collection to product features users request and keeps live research routed through the backend.
Children
AIEO is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to AIEO, contact privacy@aieo.ai.
Changes to this policy
AIEO may update this policy when the product, legal requirements, or extension permissions change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
